Seminole County is considered one of the fastest growing counties in the state. It's location, adjacent to Orange, Lake, and Volusia Counties makes this an attractive county to reside in. Established in the early 1900s and named after the Native American tribe by the same name, Seminole County had a 2000 Census population of over 350,000 residents and its county seat is located in Sanford. By the end of 2008, the population grew to over 411,000.
The Seminole County Courthouse (Vriminal Justice Center) is located at 101 Bush Boulevard in Sanford, off State Road 17-92, between Lake Mary and Ronald Reagan Blvd. The large five story building replaced the older courthouse located downtown Sanford, which is still used for non criminal cases.
